The birth story of Mata Lakshmi

A beautiful girl was born to Bhuti Rishi’s wife Khyati. She had all the auspicious signs, so she was named Lakshmi. As she grew older, she heard about the qualities of Lord Vishnu and became engrossed in her devotion. She started doing severe penance on the beach to get Narayan as her husband. Thousands of years have passed.

One day Indra Dev took the form of Lord Vishnu to test him and asked for a boon. On this, he requested to have a vision of Vishwaroop. On this Indra returned ashamed from there. In the end, Narayana himself appeared and made the Goddess appear as a Vishwaroopa. After this, he accepted Lakshmi Ji as his wife according to his will.

Second story

Once Maharishi Durvasa went to a forest. There he has presented a divine garland by someone. They left from there, only on the way met Indra, who was seated on Airavat. Maharishi Durvasa gave that divine garland to Indra. Indra put it on Airavat’s head, Airavat crushed that garland with his feet. Seeing this, Maharishi Durvasa became angry and cursed Indra to be Srihila.

Devaloka departed from Indra’s hands with the effect of the curse. Asuras rule everywhere, the gods are troubled. After consulting Brahma Ji, all reached Lord Vishnu. Narayan offered him the churning of the Kshira Sea with the help of the Asuras.

Many miraculous items were obtained from the ocean churning of gods and asuras. During this time, Goddess Lakshmi, seated on the white lotus, also appeared with the churning of the ocean. Seeing him, all the gods including Indra were pleased and worshiped him.
