Amid tight security arrangements made in view of Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s two-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir, security forces on Friday gunned down four terrorists in the Kala Jungle of the Machhal sector in Kupwara.
J&K Police informed that terrorists were trying to infiltrate our border from Pakistan-Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK).
A huge cache of arms and ammunition has been recovered from the slain intruders. Since this incident, the vigil on the LoC has been increased all over North Kashmir.
In the last 15 days, many cases of infiltration came to the fore. This is the third infiltration attempt in north Kashmir`s Kupwara and the second in the Machhal sector in the last 15 days.
Earlier on June 13, two terrorists were killed by army personnel in the Doganad Machhal sector and three days later five terrorists were killed in an infiltration bid in Jumagund.
Vigilance increased on LoC in North Kashmir.
Concerned army officials said that the infiltration that took place in the wee hours today is being linked to a major terror attack in Kashmir during the visit of Union Home Minister Amit Shah and to create havoc during the annual pilgrimage of Shri Amarnath.
So far this plot has been thwarted. He said vigilance against LK was intensified across northern Kashmir after the incident.
The army called on all field commanders to give a worthy response to the atrocities of the enemy. He said that the attempt to enter the country was made around 2 am this morning.

The terrorists tried to escape. They also fired at Javans. Soldiers also responded.
The meeting lasted about 3 hours. After that, the shooting of the terrorists ceased, and after sunrise the Javans searched the meeting place.
