According to the information received here, police and CRPF personnel had put up a Naka outside Shere Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences Soura.

The Naka party was checking suspicious vehicles and people passing by stopping them.

Meanwhile, a car started passing from there. As soon as the soldiers stationed at the block signaled him to stop, the car driver accelerated and the terrorists sitting inside opened fire.

One terrorist was injured in this, but in the stampede caused by the sound of bullets, his accomplices managed to take him in the car with them.

Local sources have claimed that SP Hazratbal was present at the block when the terrorists attacked. He narrowly survived this attack.

However, SSP Srinagar Rakesh Balwal denied this and said that the attack took place at the block put up outside Shere Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences, Soura.

The SP was at another block some distance away from Hazratbal. As soon as the firing took place, he immediately reached the spot with his team and took the opportunity.

One terrorist was injured in the retaliatory action of the Naka party. We have increased the security system in the entire city by blocking the entire area.

SSP Srinagar said that when the terrorists attacked, there was a lot of crowd in Soura at that time. The policemen exercised full restraint and retaliated with full understanding.

If the policemen did not exercise restraint, the citizens could also be abused. The vehicle of the terrorists has been identified.

One terrorist is also injured. Soon we will catch these terrorists or they will be killed in the encounter.
