External Affairs Minister jaishankar’s peace appeal: India Advocates Peace in West Asia Amidst Israel-Iran Tensions, Highlights Key Interests
India is in contact with Israel and Iran, External Affairs Minister Jaishankar appealed for peace; and said – our interests are also involved. India has once again expressed deep concern over the tense situation in West Asia along with the Ukraine-Russia situation and has called upon all the concerned countries and other major countries to show promptness in resolving it. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, while directly linking the situation in West Asia to India’s interests in the Rome Mediterranean Dialogue-2024, said that 9 million Indians live in these countries, India’s annual trade with the Gulf countries is $ 160-180 billion.
He said that India has a major stake in the energy, technology, and industrial projects of the Gulf countries. India has old historical, cultural, and security ties with this region. This debate has been organized by the G-7, an organization of the world’s seven richest countries, in which the current geographical and strategic situation of the entire Mediterranean Sea has been discussed.

Describing the situation in the Middle East as particularly worrying, External Affairs Minister Jaishankar said that India is maintaining high-level contact with both Israel and Iran so that restraint is exercised and dialogue is maintained. He said that the situation in the Middle East is more worrying. For what has happened there so far and also from the perspective of what can happen. India condemns both terrorism and the hostage problem. We should immediately implement a ceasefire in this region.
The Palestine problem must be resolved
External Affairs Minister Jaishankar said that the Palestine problem must be resolved for a long-term solution. Supporters of the two-nation thesis include India. We are also concerned about the expansion of this crisis. India is ready to provide its full help to resolve this crisis. Along with this, in the context of the organization I2U2 formed by the US, Israel, United Arab Emirates, and India, Jaishankar said that it will be more active in the coming days.

Jaishankar said at the beginning of his speech that India’s interests are linked with the entire Mediterranean Sea and India is in favor of peace in this region as soon as possible. He said that India’s bilateral trade with the countries of this region is $ 80 billion and 4.60 lakh Indians live here. This region is very important for India in sectors like fertilizer, energy, technology, and defense.
