Atal Tunnel Rohtang’s strategic importance

From 1954, China was preparing for war with India. He had shown a considerable part of the Indian border under his jurisdiction in his maps. To the extent of India, China had built paved roads. Therefore, he had no difficulty in delivering military goods and logistics.

There was a tremendous mobilization of his troops on the Indian border. China’s position was strong from the point of view of war. China was on the hill, it could attack the Indian army below the height.

When the Government of India tried to find out the reasons for the defeat during the India and China War in 1962, it was found that the reason for the defeat was the lack of access to the troops and timely support to the Indian troops on the Chinese border.
