BSF seized gold rings worth more than Rs 31 lakh from the Bangladesh border. The Border Security Force (BSF) has seized 208 pieces of gold rings weighing 604.510 grams.

According to the statement, on October 8, on Thursday, after the BSF’s intelligence branch reported the smuggling of gold jewelry from the area of ​​Border Outpost Banpur, the soldiers put a special operation in front of the India-Bangladesh border fence.

At around two and a half in the afternoon, the Ambush Party witnessed the movement of a suspected smuggler who was moving from India towards India Bangladesh border fence. As the smuggler approached the fence, he threw a red plastic packet over the fence towards Bangladesh.

At the same time, taking immediate action, the BSF jawans warned him and chased him but he managed to take advantage of the thick bushes and flee towards Banpur village. After that, the Ambush party searched the area and recovered a red plastic packet.

A total of 208 rings of gold (weight of all rings is about 604.510 grams) was recovered from the packet and its value was estimated at Rs 31,32,268. BSF has handed over the seized jewelry to the Banpur Custom Office.

Officials say that the BSF’s South Bengal Frontier is constantly campaigning to stop smuggling along the India-Bangladesh international border, causing smugglers to face a lot of difficulty in carrying out their criminal activities. Many of them are being caught and punished for committing crimes.
