Air Force Continuously Strengthening Western Front

Air Force continuously strengthening the Western front amidst tension with China. The Indian Air Force has started increasing its strength on the Western Front from one and a half years ago to deal with devious neighbors like China and Pakistan.

Under this strategy, three ‘Mahabali’ have been provided to the Western Front. Chinook, Apache, and Rafale deployed at Chandigarh, Pathankot and Ambala Air Force Base are Mahabali who with their immense strength and infallible firepower will defend the inaccessible areas of Kashmir, Leh, and Ladakh.

Chinook: Chinook helicopter, which specializes in lifting heavy loads, was inducted into 12th Wing Air Force Base Chandigarh in March 2019. It can carry up to 11 tons. These helicopters built in the US are capable of carrying heavy equipment in high and inaccessible areas like Leh and Ladakh.

Transport of soldiers and heavy weapons through them as well as road construction projects in inaccessible areas will also help. Chinook has two rotor engines, due to which they are capable of flying in any weather and extremely dense hills. They can also land in small helipads and dense valleys.

Apache: Apache helicopter with modern combat capability was deployed at Pathankot Air Force Base in September last year. The Apache helicopter, about 16 feet high and 18 feet wide, made by the American company Boeing, has two engines and requires two pilots to operate.

Their speed is 280 km per hour. These are difficult to catch with radar. They can fire anti-tank missiles. The rifle under them can fill 1,200 rounds of 30 mm at a time. The Apache range is around 550 km. They can fly for a quarter to three hours at a time.

Rafael: Rafale aircraft equipped with state-of-the-art combat systems included in the 17th Squadron of the Air Force at Ambala on Thursday is able to teach China and Pakistan a lesson by penetrating their borders.

Rafale manufactured in France has a range of 3,700 km and can carry four missiles. This fighter aircraft with a speed of 2,223 Kmph can carry up to 9,500 kg.

It is extremely effective in flying in hilly areas such as Kashmir, Leh, and Ladakh and can easily flank radar. This double engine multi-role fighter aircraft is also capable of carrying nuclear weapons.
