Anantnag Encounter: A militant of LET piled up in Anantnag encounter, two still in the siege, operation continues.

So far one militant has been killed in an encounter between militants and security forces in the Vileo area of Kokernag in south Kashmir’s district Anantnag on Tuesday morning.

The slain terrorist has not yet been identified. Leaving the garden, these terrorists are now hiding in a house in the area. The firing continues still.

Security forces have surrounded the terrorists. In the midst of the firing, the army is repeatedly asking the militants to surrender but they are constantly firing on the security forces ignoring their appeal.

The operation is in progress. These three terrorists hiding in the area are said to be related to Lashkar-e-Taiba.

According to the information received from the police, security forces got information about the hiding of terrorists in Vileo area of Anantnag district in the early hours of today.

As soon as the information was received SOG, 19 RR of Army, and 19 battalions of CRPF reached the area and started the siege.

Meanwhile, the terrorists saw the security forces coming close to them and started firing on them. These terrorists were staying in a garden.

The security forces first asked the terrorists to surrender but when they did not agree, they also started retaliating.

Seeing the security forces dominate, the terrorists left the garden and hid in a house nearby. Security forces killed a terrorist during the encounter.

While two other militants continued the firing on the security forces even after the accomplice was killed.

Meanwhile, the security forces once again gave the terrorists a chance to surrender, but this time also they did not agree. The operation of the security forces is going on.

IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar confirmed that three Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists were trapped at the site of the encounter on the basis of information.

Giving information about the encounter on the tweeter handle of the Kashmir Zone Police said that “The encounter has started in the Vailo area of Kokernag in Anantnag.

Police and security personnel are at work. Further details are awaited. Meanwhile, the army has also stopped the movement of vehicles on the Anantnag highway.
