Republic TV editor-in-chief Arnab Goswami has not received any immediate relief from the Bombay High Court in the case of allegedly abetting the interior designer for suicide.

The court could not hear it on Friday due to Arnab Goswami’s bail plea being incomplete.

The hearing on the bail application will continue tomorrow i.e. Saturday. Goswami has filed a bail petition in the Bombay High Court citing his arrest as illegal.

A bench of Justice SS Shinde and Justice MS Karnik will hear the matter on Saturday. It is known that Goswami was arrested from his house in Lower Parel on Wednesday for allegedly abetting the suicide of architect and interior designer Anvay Naik.

Arnab has filed a petition in the Bombay High Court and appealed to quash the FIR lodged against him.

After the arrest, a court in Alibag sent Goswami and two other accused in the case to judicial custody till November 18. Currently, Goswami is placed in a local school.

The school was made the Covid Center of Alibaug Prison. Goswami has challenged the arrest in his petition and termed it illegal. Not only this, but he has also requested the court to immediately stop the investigation of the case.

The bench of Justices SS Shinde and MS Karnik heard the arguments of senior advocates Harish Salve and Abad Ponda on Friday.

According to the leading news agency report. The bench said that we will continue hearing on this matter tomorrow.

The petition said that it was a case of politically tarnishing the image of Arnab and his channel and political vendetta. The petitioner is falsely arrested in a false and closed case.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court has issued a show-cause notice to the secretary of Maharashtra Legislative Assembly in the matter of writing a letter to Arnab Goswami.

The Supreme Court has asked him in two weeks to explain why contempt proceedings should not be initiated against him. The Assembly Secretary had allegedly told Arnab not to inform the apex court about the House notice.

The Supreme Court has granted relief to Arnab from arrest in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly for breach of privilege.
