ATAGS Howitzer Is The World’s Best Cannon

ATAGS Howitzer is the world’s best cannon, capable of meeting the need of the Indian Army – DRDO.

The indigenous Howitzer ATAGS cannon developed by the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) was tested in Balasore, Odisha.

The test took place at the Balasore firing range. A DRDO scientist said that it is the best cannon in the world. It has the capability to target targets up to 48 kilometers away.

This indigenous cannon can meet the Indian Army’s requirement of 1800 artillery gun systems and there is no import requirement in the region.

Howitzer ATGS guns have fired two thousand rounds at Sikkim near the China border and Pokhran near the Pakistani border.

Speaking to a leading news agency during the field trials, senior scientist of DRDO and Director of ATAGS Project Shailendra V Gane said that this gun system is better than the legendary Bofors of the Indian Army and any other cannon in the world.

It is also superior to Israel’s ATHOS gun.

The Advanced Todd Artillery Gun System (ATAGS) has been developed by DRDO. Manufactured by Bharat Forge and Tata Advanced Systems Limited. Gane said, ‘The Indian Army requires 1580 toad cannons.

In addition, they require 150 ATAGS and 114 bow cannons. Altogether 1,800 guns are required. The way ATAGS is performing, I am sure it can meet this entire requirement of 1,800 cannons.

Gane said that in the war scenario, the Indian Army will gain from this over enemies like China. He said that the gun developed by DRDO is the world’s longest firing gun with 48 km.

This will reduce the risk when targeting the enemy. He said, ‘Enemies will not be able to face you because they will not be able to reach you, but you can reach them from 48 km others.

Asked whether ATAGS is better than the hats available with China and Pakistan.

Gané said, ‘In fact, it is the best gun in the world because no other country has been able to manufacture cannon with such firing capability on this high-technology.
