Automatic Cars: Do Not Make These Mistakes While Driving An Automatic Car

Automatic Cars: Do not make these mistakes while driving an automatic car, an accident can happen in the blink of an eye.

Automatic cars have some advantages and disadvantages as compared to manual cars and there are certain driving habits that should be avoided while driving an automatic car.

There are three types of automatic transmission technology in modern cars, CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission), AMT (Automated Manual Transmission), and dual-clutch automated manual.

Let us tell you what should be taken care of while driving an automatic car and what should not be done.

Do not shift to N when at a speed.

Never shift neutral whenever you are driving an automatic car. You should only shift when you have come to a complete stop.

Shifting into neutral while the car is moving can increase the likelihood of wear and tear on the transmission system.

Don’t use your left foot.

Automatic cars come with only two pedals except for the clutch. This means that the left leg is not needed.

Many people make the mistake of using both feet while driving an automatic car, just like a manual car. This can cause you to accidentally accelerate and brake at the same time.

Because of this, you will lose control. That’s why never use the left foot while driving an automatic car.

Use the handbrake and park mode.

Always put the gear shifter in park mode when parking the car. Simultaneously pull the handbrake while standing.

Failure to use the hand brake puts a lot of pressure on the transmission mechanism of the vehicle.

On the other hand, in case of non-functioning of the handbrake, the park mode prevents the vehicle from going forward or backward.

In the case of AMT cars, keep the shift neutral and apply the handbrake as they do not come with park mode.
