Barcelona won by two goals scored by Lionel Messi, defeating Valencia 3-2 in La Liga.
With two goals from superstar striker Lionel Messi, Barcelona have come back from behind to beat Valencia 3–2 and keep their hopes of the Spanish Football League La Liga title alive.
Argentina’s Messi did not score a penalty during the match, but he scored on a free-kick. Messi scored two goals in the second half, while Antoine Griezmann scored the other goal for the team.
Valencia scored goals from Gabriel Paulista and Carlos Soler. After the match, Barcelona captain Gared Peake said, “It is a significant win for us to stay in the title race.”

Both teams failed to score a goal in the first half. The start of the second half was also bad for Barcelona. The team had to score in the 50th minute when Gabriel Paulista scored for Valencia.
However, seven minutes later Messi equaled the team. Messi had an excellent chance to score from a penalty kick, but his poor shot was intercepted by Valencia goalkeeper Jasper Chilisen.
Meanwhile, Barcelona midfielders Sergio Busquets and Pedri Gonzalez sent the ball to Messi standing in the goalkeeper box and the Argentine player made no mistake this time in getting the ball to the goal post.
Griezmann then scored in the 63rd minute to put the team ahead 2–1 in the match. Then, six minutes later, Messi scored a brilliant goal through a free-kick to strengthen the team’s lead to 3–1.
Messi kicked the ball with the left foot and the ball went straight over the players’ vertical wall into the goal post.
For Valencia, Solar scored a goal in the 83rd minute to narrow the gap between the team’s defeat, but the team could not score an equalizer.
The win brings Barcelona to 74 points from 34 matches in the points table and the team is two points behind top-ranked Atletico Madrid.
Barcelona’s team can reach the top for the first time in the current season if they beat Atletico in the next weekend’s match.
In other matches, Villarreal beat Gate 1-0 at home, finishing sixth, while seventh-seeded Real Betis was held 1–1 by Valladolid. Granada, who defeated Barcelona, however, suffered a 0–1 defeat against Cadiz.
Lionel Messi has scored for Barcelona on 50 free kicks, while he has scored for Argentina on six free kicks. At the same time, Cristiano Ronaldo scored 47 goals for the club and 10 for Portugal on the free-kick.
28 goals Messi has scored in La Liga this season and he has a seven-goal lead over Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema. Ronaldo has scored 27 goals in Serie-A.
