Big terrorist module busted by Punjab Police, six arrested in Pathankot Army Camp grenade attack.

The Punjab Police has solved hand grenade attacks, including the attack on the Pathankot Army camp on November 22 last year.

The International Sikh Youth Federation (ISYF) group-backed terrorist module has been busted and six of its people have been arrested in the case.

SBS Nagar Police (Nawanshahr) has also recovered six grenades (86P), one pistol (9 mm), one rifle (.30 bore) along with bullets and magazines from their possession.

Under the supervision of SSP Kanwardeep Kaur, SP Sarbjit Bahia, SP PBI Iqbal Singh, DSP Harjeet Singh, DSP H&F Surinder Chand, Incharge CIA Dalbir Singh, SHO Sadar Banga Harpreet Singh, Incharge Narcotics Cell Jarnail Singh and ASI Manjit Singh carried out the operation.

The arrested people have been identified as Amandeep alias Mantri, resident of Lakhanpal village in Gurdaspur, Gurwinder Singh alias Gindi, resident of Kharal village, Gurdaspur.

Parminder Kumar alias Rohit alias Rohta, resident of village Kharal in Gurdaspur, Rajinder Singh, resident of Gunnupur village, Gurdaspur.

Alias ​​Malhi alias Nikku has been identified as Harpreet Singh alias Dholki, a resident of Gotpokar village in Gurdaspur and Raman Kumar of Ghazikot village in Gurdaspur.

DGP VK Bhanwara said that during preliminary interrogation, the accused have revealed that they were in direct contact with self-proclaimed ISYF chief Lakhbir Singh Rode and close associates of Sukhmeetpal Singh alias Sukh Bhikhariwal and Sukhpreet alias Sukh and planned terrorist attacks.

International Sikh Youth Federation chief Lakhbir Rode had sent weapons.

The entire cache of recovered grenades, arms, and ammunition were handed over by Lakhbir Rode from across the international border.

These men were assigned the task of attacking. They mainly had to mark police and defense establishments, religious places, etc.

The accused have also confessed to throwing hand grenades twice in Pathankot.

It is noteworthy that Lakhbir Rode’s role was found in the murder of Com. Balwinder Singh at Bhikhiwind on October 16, 2020.

Besides the recovery of Tiffin IED, RDX, arms, and ammunition from his relative Gurmukh Singh Rode from Jalandhar in August 2021.

Sukhmeetpal Singh alias Sukh Bhikhariwal is currently lodged in Tihar Jail (Delhi).

He was also involved in the murder of Comrade Balwinder Singh and the murderous attack on Honey Mahajan in Dhariwal on February 10, 2020.

He was deported from Dubai in December 2020. Sukh Bhikhariwal had provided arms and ammunition, logistics, money, etc. to commit these crimes.
