Cabinet Approved The Purchase Of 15 Light Combat Helicopters

Cabinet approved the purchase of 15 light combat helicopters, know what capabilities this helicopter is equipped with.

The Prime Minister-led Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) on Wednesday approved the purchase of 15 indigenously developed Light Combat Helicopters (LCH) at a cost of Rs 3,887 crore.

Of these, 10 helicopters will be for the Indian Air Force and five for the Indian Army, the Defense Ministry said.

“CCS has approved the procurement of 15 Light Combat Helicopters (LCH) Limited Series Production at a cost of Rs 3,887 crore as well as infrastructure systems for Rs 377 crore,” the ministry said.

Seeing the challenges on the border, the forces are being strengthened

The Light Combat Helicopter Limited Series Production (LSP) is an indigenously developed combat helicopter with about 45 percent indigenous material by value which will gradually increase to more than 55 percent.

It has been manufactured by the public sector Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL).

The decision to purchase this helicopter is also important because the three parts of the army are increasing their firepower to face the current challenges on the Chinese border.

The helicopter is equipped with requisite efficiency, maneuverability, extended range, high altitude flight performance, and all-weather combat capability.

These include Combat Level Search and Rescue (CSAR), Destroying Enemy Air Defense (DEAD), and Anti-Insurgency (CI) operations.

Also, the contract with BEL.

The Defense Ministry has also signed two agreements with the Bangalore and Hyderabad units of Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL).

These agreements, worth Rs 3,102 crore, will significantly increase the aircraft capacity of the Indian Air Force.

The MoU has been signed between the Ministry of Defense and BEL Bangalore for the supply of advanced electronic warfare suits for fighter aircraft of the Indian Air Force.

Army getting armed with sniper rifles.

Recently the Indian Army has started equipping its jawans with the Saco .338TRG-42 sniper rifles. These rifles imported from Finland are being given to the army personnel posted on the Line of Control.

It is said that the Sakko sniper rifle is ahead of the sniper rifle being used by Pakistani soldiers in every respect. The soldiers armed with this rifle have proved to be more lethal.

The role of the sniper shooter is very important in the operational activities of the army along the LoC and international border.

Agreement on the construction of eight patrol ships.

Significantly, in view of the increasing strategic challenges and the global situation, the government is continuously working to strengthen the Indian forces.

The Defense Ministry on Monday signed an agreement worth Rs 473 crore with Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL) for the construction of eight patrol vessels for the Indian Coast Guard.

According to the information shared by the Ministry of Defense, these ships will be indigenously designed, developed, and built by GSL. These eight ships will be stationed near the Indian shores.
