The Supreme Court on Friday told the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) that a bench has been constituted to hear its plea.

DMRC has claimed in the petition that construction work of some of its projects in the NC  has come to a halt due to non-receipt of permission to cut trees and it is incurring a loss of Rs 3.5 crore per day.

A bench headed by Chief Justice NV Ramana told Solicitor General Tushar Mehta that the matter is under the notice of the court and a bench has been constituted.

Mehta expressed satisfaction with this. He had also sought an early hearing on the petition on September 7.

It may be mentioned that the expansion project of DMRC’s fourth phase in the national capital requires the cutting of many trees.
