The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday filed the first supplementary charge sheet against three Lashkar-e-Taiba members in an online recruitment case lodged in West Bengal last year.

The NIA has filed a charge sheet against the three members of the terrorist organizations, including an absconding Pakistani woman.

The NIA spokesperson said that the Chargesheet was filed in a special court of Kolkata-based NIA Tania Parveen alias Isranoor and Rifayat, Malaypur-Baduria (North 24 Parganas).

Syed M. Idris alias Munna, Anganwadi (Karnataka), and absconding accused Ayesha alias Filed against Ayesha Burhan, Ayesha Siddiqui, resident Sargodha, Punjab (Pakistan).

The spokesperson said that the case was registered on March 18 last year at Baduria police station in North 24 Parganas district.

The case was registered after the arrest of Parveen, a member of the Pakistan-based terrorist organization.

The case was re-registered after the NIA took over its investigation on April 5, 2020, and has already filed a charge sheet against Parveen under various sections of the stringent UA (P) Act.

The spokesperson said, “Parveen was a college student and was admitted to cyberspace by the Pakistan-based cadre of Lashkar.

She was the co-administrator of various social media groups spreading separatist views in Kashmir along with Ayesha Burhan, an accused in the LeT women’s unit. ‘

The spokesperson said that Parveen, along with other LeT accused members in India and Pakistan, was involved in illegal activities and radicalized individuals, and instigated others through cyberspace to wage jihad against India.

On 15 April, the NIA arrested school teacher Altaf Ahmed Rather in his case in his residence in the Bandipora district of North Kashmir.

Officials said that although Rathar’s name has not been mentioned in the charge sheet, the investigation into the case is still going on.
