Chief of Eastern Air Command Visits Kalaikunda & Salua Airbases

Chief of Eastern Air Command visits Kalaikunda and Salua airbases in Bengal to take stock of preparations.

Air Marshal DK Patnaik, Chief (Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief) of Eastern Air Command, during his visit to Bengal from May 4-7, visited two major airbases Kalaikunda and Salua Air Force Station here.

During this, he reviewed the operational preparedness in these Air Force stations. Defense spokesperson in Kolkata gave this information in a statement on Saturday.

The spokesman said that Air Marshal Patnaik was on a visit to both these airbases located near Kharagpur in Paschim Medinipur district from May 4 to 7.

At the same time, on reaching here, Air Commodore Ran Singh, Air Officer Commanding of Kalaikunda Air Force Station, welcomed him.

On the arrival of the Air Marshal, he was also given a Guard of Honor. After this, he also held a meeting with the senior officers of this station.

During this, the officials briefed him in detail about the operation, maintenance, administrative preparedness, and ongoing infrastructure development of the station.

The Air Marshal also visited various units and sections of the Air Force Station and interacted with Air Warriors, Defense Security Corps personnel, Military Engineering Service, and Defense personnel.

A defense spokesperson said that Air Marshal Patnaik later also visited Air Force Station Salua and took stock of the preparedness here as well.

The AOC-in-C, while addressing the Air Force personnel during the visit, urged all to discharge their responsibilities in a professional manner and emphasized the importance of confidence in the operation of aircraft and systems.

He also appreciated the efforts of all the personnel of the station to complete all the assigned tasks in a proper manner.

Along with this, he also called upon the airmen to be always ready and alert in view of the increasing security challenges.

He was accompanied by Anuradha Patnaik, President of the Wives Welfare Association (Regional) of the Eastern Air Force Command on this tour.

Let us inform you that earlier in February itself, he had visited both these Air Force stations.
