Cleanest city’ Indore becomes a role model for the world- CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan. Indore received the title of the cleanest city in the country for the fourth consecutive time. Expressing happiness over being declared the cleanest city in India, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan said on Thursday that Indore has now become a model for the world in cleanliness.

He said ‘cleanliness is now the nature of Indore’ and appreciated his citizens who made this achievement possible. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday announced the results of ‘Swachh Survekshan – 2020’, the fifth edition of the cleanliness survey, through video conferencing. In this, Indore, the industrial center of Madhya Pradesh, was selected as the cleanest city in India.

During this period, cities that performed better on cleanliness were also rewarded. Indore is followed by Surat in Gujarat second place and Navi Mumbai in Maharashtra on the third. Soon after the results of Swachh Sarvakshan 2020 were announced, Chauhan tweeted, “We will move forward together to fulfill the dream of a prosperous Madhya Pradesh with a clean Madhya Pradesh.”

He tweeted, ‘Cleanliness is now the nature of Indore. The city has now become a role model for the world in cleanliness. My heartiest congratulations to the people of Indore, public representatives, and the people of the Municipal Corporation for the dedication. ‘

He said that it was a moment of pride for Madhya Pradesh that Indore was declared as the cleanest city in the country. This successful result surpassed 4,275 cities. The Central Government on Thursday announced the results of ‘Swachh Survekshan – 2020’, the fifth edition of the cleanliness survey.

For the fourth consecutive time, Indore got the title of the cleanest city in the country. Earlier, Indore topped 2017, 2018, 2019. Followed by Surat in Gujarat is second place and Navi Mumbai in Maharashtra on the third. The cleanest city award was won by Mysore in Karnataka in the first edition.

In the cleanliness survey, Vijayawada at number four, Ahmedabad at fifth, Rajkot at sixth, Bhopal at seventh, Chandigarh at eighth, Visakhapatnam at ninth, and Vadodara at number ten. Jalandhar Cantt was declared the cleanest cantonment in the Swachh Survekshan 2020. At the same time, Varanasi remained the cleanest city on the banks of the Ganges River. Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri gave this information by tweeting.
