CM and speaker of Kerala named in a dollar smuggling case, Swapna Suresh has made astonishing allegations. Before the assembly elections, Kerala Chief Minister P. Vijayan has been sensationalized.

Swapna Suresh, the main accused in the jailed gold smuggling case, has alleged that CM Vijayan, Assembly Speaker P. Sriramakrishnan, and some ministers were also involved in the dollar smuggling case as well as some employees of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Consulate.

The Customs Department investigating the case has made this claim in an affidavit filed in the Kerala High Court on Friday.

Notice to Speaker Sriramakrishnan.

Official sources said that the Customs Department has issued a notice to Speaker Sriramakrishnan and asked him to appear before its investigation team on 12 March.

Officials said that several attempts were made to get a statement from the speaker about dollar smuggling and foreign tours. When he did not succeed, he has been issued a notice.

Earlier, in the affidavit filed in the High Court, the Customs Department has stated that Swapna Suresh has made the above allegations in the statement filed under Criminal Procedure Code Section 164 of CrPC and Section 108 of the Customs Act.

The affidavit filed on behalf of Customs (Preventive) Commissioner Sumit Kumar claimed, ‘It is said that in the statement made under Section 108 and Section 164.

Suresh has given the Chief Minister, the Speaker of the Kerala Legislative Assembly, and the State Cabinet. Some have exposed shocking secrets against the members. ‘

Smuggled at the behest of the Chief Minister.

Swapna Suresh has alleged that the former Consul General of UAE had a very close relationship with Chief Minister P. Vijayan and has given a statement that the illegal transaction took place.

The affidavit states, “She has stated clearly that with the help of the consulate, foreign currency was smuggled at the behest of the chief minister and the speaker.”

Case of smuggling of Rs 1.30 crore

The Dollar case relates to the alleged smuggling of $ 1.90 lakh (about Rs.1.30 crore) in Muscat, Oman by the former Finance Chief of the UAE Consulate in Thiruvananthapuram.

Swapna Suresh and co-accused Sarit PS, accused in the gold smuggling case, were also allegedly involved in the dollar smuggling case and the Customs Department has already arrested them.

Claims of the close relationship with top officials

The affidavit filed on behalf of the agency also claimed that Swapna in her statement also claimed to have close ties with Chief Minister Vijayan, his principal secretary, and private secretary.

The Customs Department has filed this affidavit in response to a petition by the state government challenging some comments in the order of the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (Economic Offenses) court.

The court had also ordered protection to Swapna Suresh who was lodged in the women’s jail in Thiruvananthapuram.

In a statement before the magistrate, Suresh alleged that he was being threatened in jail and warned of dire consequences if he named the people involved in the smuggling case.

Vijayan set to go to jail: BJP

BJP state president K.K. Surendran said that Vijayan and the people associated with the case are scheduled to go to jail.

He said that the new information against Vijayan as well as Sri Ramakrishnan and the ministers was very serious and this has put the government in deep trouble at the time of elections.

CPI (M) attacked the central government.

The ruling CPI (M) in Kerala has attacked the BJP-led central government. Taking a dig at the Customs (Preventive) Commissionerate.

The party said that the investigating agency has fallen so low that the BJP has become an election weapon in its hands. The CPI (M) has also announced to protest against it.

Vijayan does not have the right to be CM: Congress.

The politics in Kerala has been hot on the affidavit of the Customs Department. The Congress has said that Chief Minister P. Vijayan does not have the right to continue in office after this information comes to the fore.

Leader of Opposition in Kerala Legislative Assembly Ramesh Chennithala of Congress said that Vijayan no longer has the right to continue as Chief Minister even for a moment.

He also accused the BJP that even after receiving such sensational evidence, the investigation into the case has been closed. He accused the connivance of the Chief Minister and the BJP of this.
