Congress leader’s son in Kerala had attacked his house, arrested. In the case of the attack on the house of Congress leader G. Lima in Kerala, the police have arrested his son. The Congress leader’s house was attacked after killing two activists of the CPI-M’s youth wing DYFI. Police arrested his son and his friends on Friday on charges of vandalizing the house.

Thiruvananthapuram Police Commissioner Balaram Kumar Upadhyay has said, “Accused Nikhil Krishna told the police that he had attacked his house to trap local political enemies.” Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee member G Lima claimed on Wednesday that His house in Muttatara was attacked at two o’clock in the night by CPI (M) workers.

The next day, senior Congress leaders including State Congress President Mullappally Ramesh Chandran, Leader of Opposition in the state Assembly Ramesh Chennithala, former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy visited Lima’s house.

Four Congressmen arrested for killing 2 CPI (M) workers

The Kerala Police arrested four Congress workers involved in the conspiracy to murder two activists belonging to the CPI (M) youth wing. The police took the four into custody on Monday. The brutal assassination was carried out at the midnight Sunday. Five CPI (M) activists Haq Muhammad and Mithilaz were killed by five bike riders armed with swords and knives, about 25 km from the state capital.

According to the police, the arrested Congressmen include Shejit, Ajit, Najib, and Sati. The two main accused Sanjeev and Sanal have not been arrested yet. Police have also apprehended the other four for questioning. Although the FIR does not mention political assassination.

The police have noted that there was a confrontation between the two factions during the Lok Sabha elections held in May 2019. Since then there was tension between them. Senior CPI (M) leaders including Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan have condemned the killing.
