Surge in COVID-19 Cases in India: After an eight-month lull, the country is witnessing a resurgence of the coronavirus, with more than 600 new cases reported in the last 24 hours, marking the highest daily count since May 21.

The Union Health Ministry revealed this data, indicating a concerning escalation in the spread of the virus.

The news agency, citing information from the Union Health Ministry, reported 614 new cases of the coronavirus in India over the past day.

This surge has pushed the total number of active cases to 2,311, highlighting a significant uptick in infections across the nation.

Additionally, the Union Health Ministry disclosed that three individuals lost their lives to the virus in Kerala within the same 24-hour period.

This brings the total number of Covid-19-related deaths in the country to 5,33,321.

Vaccination Efforts.

Despite the surge in cases, India has made progress in its vaccination campaign. The Health Ministry reported that the total number of COVID-19 cases in the country has now reached 4.50 crore.

The recovery rate stands at an encouraging 98.81 percent, with 4,44,70,346 individuals having successfully recovered from the virus.

Moreover, a substantial 220.67 crore people have received the Covid-19 vaccine in the country.

DMK’s Response.

DMK spokesperson Saravanan Annadurai expressed disappointment over the High Court’s decision, emphasizing its impact on the education minister.

Despite the potential loss of his MLA-minister position, Annadurai stated that the party is prepared to take the matter to the Supreme Court for further legal recourse.
