DDC Chairman Elections: The Wind Of Change In Kashmir
DDC Chairman elections in Jammu & Kashmir: The wind of change in Kashmir, the air of the separatist agenda of the group came out.
The winds of change in the politics of the new Jammu and Kashmir were such that the air of the separatist agenda of the Gupta Group (PAGD) was dispelled.
The District Development Council (DDC), who came together to save their existence in the elections, are now sweating out the race for the post of president.
Already, the BJP has almost eliminated these parties in the Jammu division.
The condition is that Farooq Abdullah’s National Conference, which had been in power in Kashmir for decades, lost its stronghold Srinagar to the recently formed Jammu Kashmir Apni Party (JKAP) in the elections held on Saturday.
Even in Shopian, which is considered to be the stronghold of the Jamaat, its party is waving. It is clear that his party is now ready to replace NC-PDP in Kashmir.
Jammu and Kashmir are growing their own party by marginalizing parties like NC and PDP. At the same time, BJP number one has occupied the chair in the Jammu division.
This is the reason why BJP was able to easily capture Jammu and Kathua seats. Only in Kulgam is the chairman of the CPI (M) alliance partner.
The NC and PDP were nowhere to be seen in the first phase. Elections for the next three phases will also be held on the 8th, 10th, and 13th of this month.
Emotional slogans do not work:
With the reorganization of Jammu and Kashmir, there was a big change in the politics of Jammu and Kashmir. Sensing the situation, NC, PDP, People’s Conference, CPI (M), and other parties went to the polls together to save the existence and gave a slogan of resumption of 370.
Despite this, its independents and new faces gave a big blow to the secretive alliance. After the defeat of DDC, the Gupta Alliance also seems to be disintegrating. The Congress also had outside support to the alliance.
DDC Chairman Elections: In the past who lost Srinagar, he also lost power:
Srinagar is considered to be the most important in the politics of Kashmir. No party is able to fully dominate its dominance in Kashmir until it proves itself in Srinagar.
In 2014, the PDP won six of the eight assembly seats in Srinagar. After this, in the Lok Sabha elections, the seat of Srinagar also went out of the hands of the NC and then the power.
NC took advantage of the violent protests of 2016 and people’s displeasure towards PDP and in 2019 Farooq Abdullah again managed to win the Srinagar seat.
The condition of PDP is worse:
Mehbooba’s fort of Anantnag has also been demolished. The PDP won only two seats from the district in the election. Even though the NC is in a good state, the collapse of its stronghold is leaving Mehbooba.
Most of the independents won by the BJP and its party in Kashmir have been called their supporters. In the first phase of the election of the chairman, his party has also shown this.
Now everyone’s eye is on the next stage. Therefore, PDP President Mehbooba Mufti, who is trying to save his land, has declared his candidate for the post of Chairman in Baramulla without NC approval, but they’re too his party is seen standing ahead with the support of independents.
Farooq and Umar have become soft
NC is fully feeling the change against itself in Kashmir. Omar and Farooq are also now feeling marginalized, so they are completely soft.
At the same time, they are also trying to increase the proximity with Delhi, in which both are sitting outside Kashmir at this time, seeing no success.
