Diesel Prices On 1 October: Diesel prices increased once again, petrol also became expensive, know today’s price.

The prices of petrol and diesel were increased by the government in the metros for the second consecutive day on 1 October.

With this hike, petrol and diesel prices have reached record levels across the country.

Across the country today i.e. on October 1, the price of diesel has increased by up to 30 paise, while the price of petrol has seen an increase of up to 25 paise per liter.

After the increase in prices, petrol prices in the capital Delhi increased to Rs 101.89 per liter, while diesel is also being sold at Rs 90.17 per liter.

Apart from this, in Mumbai today petrol is being sold at Rs 107.95 per liter, while diesel is being sold at Rs 97.84 per liter.

This is the fifth hike in diesel prices, while the third hike in petrol prices after a gap of three weeks of revising fuel rates.

In the international market, oil prices are at a three-year high with the global benchmark Brent trading at $78.64 per barrel.

Due to this jump in global rates, government-owned Indian Oil Corporation (IOC),  BPCL, and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation (HPCL) resumed daily price revision from September 24.

Due to this, the stagnation in the rates applicable from 5 September ended.

Diesel prices have increased five times since September 24, raising its price by up to Rs 1.25 per litre.

The last time when international oil prices fell in July and August, the retail prices of petrol and diesel in the Delhi market saw a reduction of Rs 0.65 per liter and Rs 1.25 per liter respectively.

However, between May 4 and July 17, the price of petrol was increased by Rs 11.44 per liter, and that of diesel by Rs 9.14 during this period.

Apart from this, jet fuel (ATF) used in aircraft has also become expensive. The price of jet fuel (ATF) in Delhi has increased by Rs 3,972.94 to Rs 72,582.16 per kilolitre.
