Digvijaya Singh booked by Bhopal Crime Branch for sharing ‘Altered’ video of CM Shivraj Chouhan. The FIR has been recorded under different segments of the Indian Penal Code, a day after a BJP delegation headed by the previous minister Umashankar Gupta presented a reminder to the wrongdoing part of Bhopal police.

The Bhopal Crime Branch on Monday enrolled an FIR against senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh regarding the dissemination of an affirmed “altered” video of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s intense explanation on alcohol.

The FIR has been recorded under different segments of the Indian Penal Code, a day after a BJP delegation headed by the previous minister and senior leader Umashankar Gupta presented a reminder to the wrongdoing part of Bhopal police body of evidence against Digvijaya Singh for sharing the “altered” video on Twitter.

In their grumbling to the wrongdoing branch, the BJP leaders said that Chouhan had given an announcement against the alcohol strategy of the then Kamal Nath government on January 12 this year. This 2.19-minute video was altered and a nine-second part of it was shared on Twitter by Singh to defame the picture of the Chief Minister, the BJP leaders said in the protest.

They had requested a body of evidence against the senior Congress leader and his partners for “plotting to defame the CM’s image”. BJP MLA Rameshwar Sharma likewise shared the screen capture of Digvijaya Singh’s tweet and said that the post has now been erased. In the meantime, Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra said that he has guided the authorities to make a severe legitimate move against the guilty parties, who contorted the CMs’ proclamation against the alcohol mafia.

Congress has not yet responded to this issue. “The video was shared via web-based networking media and an enormous number of individuals shared it. The police ought to go to the wellspring of the video as opposed to making it a policy centered issue,” a Congress worker said on state of secrecy.
