Canada had made serious allegations against India on this basis in the Najjar murder case, US Ambassador David revealed.

There has been a diplomatic confrontation in the relations between India and Canada amid the murder of extremist Sikh leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar.

Pointing towards this, US Ambassador to Canada David Cohen said, ‘It was intelligence shared between the Five Eyes partners due to which the Trudeau administration had to claim it.

“This was a case of shared intelligence,” Cohen told Local News Channel in an interview.

There was a lot of discussion between Canada and the United States about this and I think as far as I am comfortable, this is it.

Let us tell you that Five Eyes is an intelligence alliance in which Australia, Canada, New Zealand, America, and The countries of the UK are included.

Diplomatic Tensions: Nijjar’s murder and Canada’s claim.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Monday claimed Ottawa had credible intelligence implicating Indian agents in the killing of Najjar in Vancouver.

However, India rejected these allegations as ‘absurd and motivated’. Cohen avoided providing any information about intelligence shared by Five Eyes partners with the Canadian government.

Earlier this week, Trudeau told reporters that officials had been working closely with intelligence agencies since the summer to ‘make sure we had a solid foundation in understanding what was going on.’

If the allegations made by Canada are proven true.

Trudeau said in the Canadian Parliament that the involvement of a foreign government in the killing of a Canadian citizen on Canadian soil represents an unacceptable violation of the country’s sovereignty.

Cohen said that if the allegations made by Canada are proven true, it would potentially be considered a very serious violation of the rules-based international order.

Earlier on Friday, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said Washington was ‘deeply concerned’ over Trudeau’s allegations that India had a hand in the killing of pro-Khalistan leader Najjar.

“Let the investigation do its job and lead to results,” Cohen said.

What does America have to say about this?

Earlier addressing a press conference in New York City, Blinken said the US is directly engaged with the Indian government.

He said Washington is also consulting “very closely” with Canada and coordinating on the issue. He called it important that India work with Canadians on the investigation into the murder.

However, Trudeau failed to present any evidence to support his claims.
