DMK Leads In All 21 Corporations In Tamil Nadu ULB Elections

DMK leads in all 21 corporations in Tamil Nadu urban local body elections, AIADMK second.

Tamil Nadu Urban Local Bodies election results are out Counting of votes is underway at 8 am amid tight security at the counting centers.

According to the Tamil Nadu State Election Commission (TNSEC) website data, the DMK is leading with 281 wards in Nagar Panchayats, while the party is leading in 98 wards in Municipalities.

While AIADMK is at number two, AIADMK is leading in 30 wards, let us inform you that Ganga, a transgender candidate of DMK has won from ward 37 of Vellore Municipal Corporation (VMC).

In VMC, DMK has won 14 wards, AIADMK and Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) have won 4 wards, Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) has won 1 and independents have won three wards.

The urban local body elections were held in the state on February 19, in which 60.70 percent polling was registered.

Counting of votes is taking place at 15 counting centers. The result of each ward will be announced through the microphone.

Strict vigil has been kept at all the counting centers, IAS officers and police security are deployed at various places. Simultaneously, the counting process is being monitored with CCTV cameras.

Let us inform you that the voting for the urban local body elections held after a long gap of 11 years was completed in a single phase on February 19.

Counting of votes for urban local body elections is underway in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu.

Indirect elections for the mayor and deputy mayor of the corporation and the president and vice-president of the municipality and the president and vice-chairman of the city panchayat will be held on March 4.
