Shocking news has come to the fore at Abu Dhabi International Airport. A suspected drone attack has been reported at the airport.

Yemen’s Iran-aligned Houthi rebels said on Monday it had attacked the United Arab Emirates after Gulf state officials reported a fire in the capital, Abu Dhabi, possibly caused by drones.

At least three people have been killed and six others injured in suspected drone strikes in Abu Dhabi, the Emirati state-run news agency quoted police as saying.

Abu Dhabi Police gave full details of the incident in a statement on state news agency WAM.

Police said that the explosion took place in three fuel tankers in the industrial Musaffa area near the storage facilities of the oil firm ADNOC.

That led to the explosions near Abu Dhabi International Airport. A fire broke out at a construction site.

Surely this incident is big and dangerous. The statement said soon after the incident that no damage was caused by the incidents, but later it was reported that three people were killed.

Preliminary investigations showed parts of a small aircraft that could possibly be a drone at both places. Simultaneously, the full investigation of the incident has been started from scratch.

The military spokesman for Yemen’s Houthi faction, which is battling a military coalition led by Saudi Arabia and including the United Arab Emirates.

He said the group had launched a military operation “deep in the UAE” and would continue in the coming hours. He will announce the details.

Meanwhile, pro-coalition forces backed by the United Arab Emirates have recently joined the fight against the Houthis in the energy-producing regions of Yemen’s Shabwa and Marib.
