This is an example of how high a country can fly if the policies are right. Drones were mainly associated with the defense sector till a few years ago.

Prime Minister Modi said that his government did not waste time on apprehensions about opening up the drone sector, but believed in India’s young talent and moved ahead with a new mindset.

The government has prioritized technology and innovation in the budget and policy measures.

Modi said drones have various uses. These have been used in the ‘Swamitva Yojana’ to create a record of land ownership in villages and for the purpose of transporting medicines and vaccines.

The Prime Minister said that ‘Farmer Drones’ are bringing a new revolution.

Farmers can use high-capacity drones to bring their produce like fruits, vegetables, and flowers to the markets in less time and increase their income.
