What is the matter

A youth returning from Haat was raped by 17 youths in front of her husband in the Ghasipur area of ​​Dumka, the capital of Jharkhand on Tuesday night. The miscreants tied the husband to the rope.

The couple also threatened to kill him. On Wednesday, after registering an FIR at the Mufassil police station by the victim, the police became active and launched a raid.

Late evening, the police nabbed the main accused Ram Mohali from his village. His companions are absconding.

On finding out about the gang-rape, DIG Sudalarshan Mandal and Dumka SP Ambar Lakra of Santal Pargana went to the police station and questioned the woman. All the accused belong to the adjacent village.

According to the victim, she was returning from Haat Bazaar with her husband. On the way around eight o’clock at night, 17 drunk men surrounded them.

In this, five boys tied her husband with a rope. The rest of the boys dragged him to the bush. Everyone raped in turn. She could not go to the police station as the night was over.

On Wednesday, the police conducted medical at Dumka Medical College.

An FIR has been registered against 17 people including a nominee. The truth of the incident is being ascertained. All the accused are from nearby areas. Police will take strong action.
