Badan Singh and his accomplice Akshay, who was absconding in the abduction of senior doctor Umakant Gupta, were killed in an encounter by the police in the Jagger area on Wednesday night.
When injured, both were first brought to CHC Kheragarh and later to SN Medical College. Here he was declared dead.
Dr. Umakant Gupta, a resident of the Trans Yamuna Colony of Etmaddaula area, was kidnapped by miscreants on July 13. The miscreants had taken them to the ravines of Dholpur.
The miscreants had kidnapped him for a ransom of five crores. At 2 o’clock on the night of July 14, the police freed Dr. Umakant Gupta from the ravine.

At 1.30 pm, the police had an encounter with the miscreants in the Kachpura of the Jagger area. On seeing the police, the miscreants opened fire.
In retaliatory firing, Badan Singh and one of his companions got shot. The injured partner has been identified as Akshay Rathore.
