Former Lt Governor Of Jammu And Kashmir GC Murmu

Former Lt Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Girish Chandra Murmu was sworn in as new CAG, Rashtrapati Bhavan. Former Lt Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Girish Chandra Murmu has been sworn in as the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Apart from taking the oath, he has also taken over his assignment. A day before this appointment, President Ram Nath Kovind accepted the resignation of GC Murmu, posted as the First Deputy Governor of Jammu and Kashmir.

Murmu is known for effective implementation of government schemes

Please tell that Girish Chandra Murmu was a 1985 batch IAS of Gujarat cadre. He was entrusted with the responsibility of supervising all the major projects of the state government while being the Principal Secretary to the then Chief Minister Narendra Modi in Gujarat.

It is worth mentioning that Murmu was born in Paytari in the tribal-dominated Mayurbhanj district of Odisha. He did his PG in Political Science from Utkal University, Bhubaneswar. Also, Murmu holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Birmingham.

In March this year, Prime Minister Modi promoted him to the post of Special Secretary (Revenue) in the Ministry of Finance and made him Secretary of Expenditure. Indeed, Murmu is known for its effective implementation of government schemes. He is said to have been a very simple and grassroots IAS officer.

Manoj Sinha was made the new Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir.

Now former Minister of State for Railways Manoj Sinha (61) will be appointed as the new Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir in place of Murmu. Its information has been given by Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Sinha has served as Minister of State for Railways and Minister of State for Communications in the first term of the Modi government. However, he lost the Lok Sabha elections from Ghazipur’s seat last year. His name also came up for discussion as the Chief Ministerial candidate after the 2017 assembly elections in UP.
