Forty six NLFB militants surrendered in Assam. Forty six militants of the National Liberation Front of Bodoland(NLFB) surrender in Assam.

A total of 46 members of the militant organization National Liberation Front of Bodoland (NLFB) have surrendered with a huge cache of arms and ammunition in Assam within two days.

This is the second mass surrender of militants of the newly formed NLFB in less than a month.

The kingpin M. Batha surrendered on 22 July along with 22 other members. A total of 69 militants of the extremist organization have laid down their arms so far.

Six AK-47 rifles, two carbines each of self-loading and 303 rifles, one 9 mm pistol, three shells, and a large number of cartridges were seized from the militants, a senior official said.

Another official said that NLFB’s self-styled platoon commander B Harfa was among the surrendered militants. More militants of the organization will surrender in the next few days.

The group was formed after some disgruntled members of the National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB), a former extremist organization led by Batha, returned to the forest.

Last month 23 militants surrendered.

At the same time, 23 militants of the National Liberation Front of Bodoland (NLFB) surrendered in Assam last month.

These included the leader of the organization and the top commander. 23 militants, led by self-proclaimed NLFB chief M Batha, laid down their arms in front of state parliamentary affairs minister Pijush Hazarika at an event in western Assam’s Lalpani.

Lawyer Shreya Aggarwal has alleged that on Saturday, a mob vandalized her vehicle in front of policemen near Ruthkhala village near the Indo-Bangladesh border.

Agarwal said, “I had informed the police about two such trucks in which cattle were loaded. I took the police to the spot, after which the mob attacked.

She told the media, ‘In connection with the incident, a complaint has been filed on charges of rioting, unlawful assembly, assault, criminal intimidation, reckless behavior that can spread infectious disease (covid-19) and causing damage to the dignity of the woman.

Agarwal said on her way to the Tripura High Court, she saw two trucks full of cattle.

She went to Bishalgarh police station and asked the police to accompany her to Ruthkhala village, where the vehicles were parked and cattle were being unloaded from them.
