Four bookies arrested in Lucknow with 23 lakh rupees, used to spend big money on winning and losing in a cricket match.

The team of Crime Branch Eastern Zone and Gomtinagar Extension have arrested four bookies with Rs 23 lakh. In the alleged cricket match, they used to bet on the name of the mobile application on the win-win and score.

According to Inspector Gomtinagar Extension Akhilesh Chandra Pandey, four people were apprehended on Monday night on the information of the informer. Nepali currency has also been recovered from the accused. Mobile applications used to hack the site and fake.

Inspector said that the accused had got the application made on the mobile phone. Through this, he used to send links and set the point to bet people. During this time, they also used to cheat the accused people.

Accused fake names used to hack the mobile application site from ID created by address. After this, he used to cheat people by hiding the immediate result of the match.

Due to this, people who invested money in speculation got confused. People used to spend big money on winning the debacle. On Monday, the gang was betting on the Test match being played between England and Sri Lanka.

Meanwhile, the police came to know about the matter and arrested the accused. Those arrested include Mayank Singh, originally from Shastri Nagar Kakadev in Kanpur Nagar, Durga Singh, Akash Goyal, and Shamshad Ahmed, resident of Mahatma Gandhi Marg Hazratganj.

Police recovered Nepali currency of eight thousand rupees, a Fortuner vehicle, laptop, and iPhone along with other items from the accused.

After this, there was chaos in the family and the relatives ran towards the scene. In a hurry, the young man was admitted to CSC, Barot, in critical condition, from where the doctors referred him to Aastha Hospital in view of the worrisome condition.

Doctors declared the young man dead in the hospital. The police took the body and sent it for postmortem.
