Four Fishermen Were Rescued After 50 Hours: Maharashtra

Four fishermen stranded at sea were rescued after 50 hours, incident near Palghar coast: Maharashtra.

Four fishermen stranded in the sea near the Palghar coast have been rescued after nearly 50 hours. They were caught in the sea due to disturbances in the engine of their fishing boat and bad weather.

Palghar Superintendent of Police Dattatraya Shinde said the four fishermen had left the boat named ‘Agnimata’ at six o’clock on Thursday morning.

The boat was to return by 6 pm on the same day, but on his return, the search operation was carried out on the report of the relatives.

Two boats were sent from the nearby village in search of him, but his efforts failed. However, another vessel was reported from the sea that the engine of the said fishermen had malfunctioned and got stuck due to strong winds.

The boat had neither a wireless set nor fishermen had a mobile phone, so they were having trouble locating it. After this, the Maharashtra Maritime Board, Coast Guard, Navy, Mumbai Police, and agencies of Gujarat were contacted.

A fresh search operation started at 6 am on Saturday and ‘Agnimata’ was finally discovered at 10 am. The four fishermen were from Satpati village and are healthy.

Autorickshaw dragged Maharashtra traffic police on the road

Traffic policemen on duty in Aurangabad city of Maharashtra were dragged away by an autorickshaw driver on the road. The autorickshaw driver was stopped by the policemen for over-riding the vehicle.

The incident happened on Thursday afternoon on Jalna Road. In this, the right leg of policeman Hasimuddin Sheikh was injured. The accused driver has been arrested.
