Several people were injured when a gallery collapsed during a football match at Pookottampadam in Malappuram district in Kerala on Monday night.
A part of the gallery collapsed in the middle of the match between the two regional teams. The injured have been admitted to District Hospital Nilambur and nearby private hospitals.
The incident happened on Monday night around 9:30. Interestingly, it is very common to organize regional football tournaments in Malappuram.
More than 200 people were injured in the stand collapse.
A similar case was recently reported in Malappuram, where over two hundred people were injured when a temporary spectator gallery suddenly collapsed ahead of the start of a football match in March this year.
Police said a temporary spectator stand collapsed during a football match, injuring 200. The condition of five was critical.

The police arrested 6 accused in the gang rape of a 17-year-old minor on May 28 in the Jubilee Hills area of Hyderabad, the capital of Telangana.
Giving information on Tuesday, the police said that the arrested accused included 5 minors and 1 adult. Hyderabad Police Commissioner CV Anand said that 6 accused including 5 minors have been arrested.
Saaduddin Malik is the only adult among the accused. Out of the accused, 4 have been produced in the juvenile home, the remaining 2 will be produced today (Wednesday).

CV Anand while addressing the press conference said that we have done a detailed investigation into this matter. On March 28, a Bengaluru man asked three of his friends to find a pub to celebrate a party.
Another person booked Amnesia Pub with Usman. Giving information about the incident, Anand said that the victim had gone to the pub in the afternoon and remained there till 1.50 pm.
At 3.15 pm an accused approached the victim girl, then Saaduddin also went to the girl and misbehaved with the girl.
