Soon after the attack, the attackers fled from the spot taking advantage of the crowd while the security forces started cordoning off the area to trace the attackers.

The terrorists attacked a joint team of police and CRPF with a grenade in Khwaja Bazar, a police officer said. As soon as the grenade exploded, an atmosphere of panic prevailed in the market.

A police officer said that the police and CRPF jawans present in the market narrowly escaped as the grenade did not hit the target.

The grenade exploded near some shops, due to which two shops were damaged. Security forces have cordoned off the area.

Search is on for the attackers. Apart from this, the police are also scanning the CCTV cameras installed in the market to identify the terrorists who attacked the security forces.

Let us tell you that this is the second grenade attack by terrorists on the security forces within the last 20 hours.

Earlier on Thursday evening, some terrorists had hurled a grenade targeting the vehicles of security forces in the Kigam area of ​​Shopian.

This grenade also exploded at some distance from the vehicle without hitting the target.

Immediately after the attack, the security forces launched an operation to search for the terrorists, but the terrorists fled from there taking advantage of the darkness.

The Resistance Front, an affiliate of Lashkar-e-Taiba, had claimed responsibility for the Shopian grenade attack.
