Gupkar Alliance Will Be Involved In PM Modi’s 24/6 Meeting

Gupkar Alliance will be involved in PM Modi’s 24/6 meeting, said – there will be no agreement on Article 370, 35-A.

Amidst all the speculation, on Tuesday, the PAGD has announced to attend the meeting to be held on June 24 at the residence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The PAGD also clarified its agenda for the talks and said that they would represent the people of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh and insist on the restoration of the constitutional status before August 5, 2019.

Talking to reporters after the meeting, PAGD leaders informed that Mehbooba Mufti and Mohd Yusuf Tarigami along with Dr. Farooq Abdullah will attend the all-party meeting convened by PM.

Talking to reporters after the meeting of PAGD leaders, Dr. Abdullah said that we have received an invitation from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

We are going to join in. We are confident that we will take our stand before the Prime Minister and the Home Minister.

He said that when the meeting is over, we will tell you what was done there. What did we say and what was the reaction.

The PAGD is an alliance of six parties in Jammu and Kashmir, which also includes the major political parties NC and PDP.

This alliance was formed by the Union Government in August 2019 after the abrogation of Article 370 and bifurcation of Jammu and Kashmir into two Union Territories.

Gupkar Alliance will be involved: 24/6 talk isn’t just a photo session, it matters.

Everyone is eagerly waiting for 24/6. Why not do it, after almost 26 years, the central government is going to hold talks with the mainstream political parties in Jammu and Kashmir.

The central government is going to hold talks to normalize the situation in Jammu and Kashmir and take the political process forward.

This meeting to be held at the residence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also special because it is taking place in the changed situation in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

This meeting is being held after the abrogation of Article 370, reorganization of Jammu and Kashmir into two Union Territories.

Full statehood for Jammu and Kashmir, Assembly elections, delimitation, another division of Jammu and Kashmir, Panun Kashmir by Kashmiri Pandits, as many claims are being made.

With no clear agenda for the talks, it would not be realistic to expect a quick resolution of the political deadlock in Jammu and Kashmir from this dialogue at present.

Yet it does hope for something bigger and better, as the meeting is a part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s astonishing style of functioning.
