Imran Khan’s arrest stayed till May 31, NAB summons him and Bushra Bibi in a corruption case.

Former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan was summoned to the Anti-Corruption Office on Thursday. The case came to light when the court overturned an attempt to detain him days earlier.

Along with Imran, his wife Bushra Bushra also received a subpoena.

According to media reports, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Tuesday issued a subpoena to the head of Pakistan’s Tehreek-e-Insaf Party (PTI) and asked him to cooperate with the land corruption investigation.

Meanwhile, a Pakistani court on Wednesday extended a ruling until May 31, barring the arrest of former Prime Minister Imran Khan in cases filed after May 9.

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) issued the order after government advisers asked for more time to provide information on a case brought against Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) head Imran Khan,

The court was considering PTI’s request for details of all cases filed against Khan. Khan’s party claims to have over 100 cases against PTI representatives nationwide.

According to Pakistan’s Leading Gazette, the court granted the prosecutor’s request and postponed the hearing until May 31.

In a big relief for Khan, Islamabad’s Supreme Court on Friday granted him two weeks of protective bail in the Al Qadir Trust corruption case.

Court also ordered a moratorium on the former prime minister’s arrest in all cases brought across the country until May 15.

On May 9, Pakistan’s Supreme Court ruled Khan’s dramatic arrest in court “unlawful and unlawful”.
