Inauguration of 63 infrastructure projects of BRO by Rajnath Singh, on Ladakh tour.
On the second day of his Ladakh tour, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday inaugurated 63 infrastructure projects constructed by the Border Roads Organization (BRO) from Ladakh.
Rajnath Singh is currently in Leh on a three-day visit to Ladakh. The purpose of this visit is to take stock of India’s military preparedness in the region amid the long-standing border dispute with China.
Inaugurating the projects, he said, “The roads being constructed by BRO are going to increase the pace of development of the country. 63 bridges and roads were inaugurated today.
This has happened with the understanding of BRO personnel. After this, he will participate in a program organized by the local administration in Leh between 2 pm and 4 pm.
Inauguration of 63 infrastructure projects by Defense Minister: Later the Defense Minister will interact with the Army personnel in Leh at 7 pm.
The Defense Minister said that the incidents of terrorism have come down after the creation of Ladakh as a Union Territory.
Several steps are being taken by the Center to bring investment and improve infrastructure here. He said that PM Modi wants the political process to start in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
The PM has already spoken to the political parties of Jammu and Kashmir. He will also talk to the people of Ladakh soon.
In Leh on Sunday, Defense Minister interacted with elected senior representatives of Leh, Kargil, and Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council.
The Defense Minister was accompanied by Army Chief General MM Naravane during which Singh also met ex-servicemen of the armed forces and discussed issues related to their welfare and national security.
He also held talks with Lt Governor of Ladakh RK Mathur.
The Defense Minister will visit high-altitude bases and several important places to take stock of the ground reality and boost the morale of the security forces guarding the Line of Actual Control.
His visit to this sensitive area comes at a time when a new round of talks between India and China has been held two days ago to resolve the long-standing military standoff.
