India And China May Soon Negotiate At The CCL

India and China may soon negotiate at the Corps Commander level, as the situation on LAC prevails. India and China are expected to hold talks at the Corps Commander level soon to reduce tension on LAC in East Ladakh.

In this meeting, a high-level meeting was held on what issues would be raised by the Indian side. The meeting’s agenda was finalized in the meeting.

Top officials including NSA Ajit Doval and CDS General Bipin Rawat attended the meeting. Top official sources said that India will pressurize the withdrawal of Chinese troops in the forthcoming talks.

Indian Foreign Minister S.K. The joint declaration issued after the much-awaited meeting between Jaishankar and China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi said that military and diplomatic talks should be continued for the early withdrawal of troops from the two countries from the tense areas of eastern Ladakh.

There has been no military dialogue between the two countries even after a week has passed. On the other hand, the situation on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh remains the same. The activities of each other’s forces from both sides are being closely monitored in some areas including Galvan Valley, Pangog Lake.

Also, looking at the winter from both sides, large-scale logging is being done. On the other hand, in New Delhi, a period of intense review of relations with China is going on.

On Friday, the meeting of the China Study Group, constituted by the central government, lasted for about one and a half hours. India’s Ambassador to Beijing, Vikram Mistry, also came to attend the meeting chaired by National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval, then returned.

Almost all the big officers associated with the army, including Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, joined it. Sources said that the status of talks at the level of foreign ministries of both the countries has not been established yet, but the date of the talks of the corp commander level may be announced soon.

India and China on 30 and 31 August, LAC continued to hold military-level talks after escalating tensions between armies on both sides. The talks have taken place until a day before the Foreign Ministers’ talks in Moscow on 10 September, but after that, it has come to a standstill.

It is worth mentioning that despite violent clashes on 15 June 2020, military and diplomatic dialogue between the two countries has been going on. Apart from the talks with the local commanders, five rounds of officials have been held under a special arrangement set up between the foreign ministries of the two countries to resolve the border dispute.

But no concrete result has been achieved in the talks so far. During the talks, China talks about peace on the border but does not withdraw its troops. The Indian Army is also ready given the obstinate attitude of the Chinese Army. In such a situation, if China takes any provocative action, it will get a befitting reply from the Indian soldiers.

The Ministry of External Affairs has also stated in clear terms that China should start the process of withdrawing its army from all points of confrontation in East Ladakh. China should not try to change the status quo unilaterally along the border.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Anurag Shrivastava said on Thursday that the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) of China has carried out three provocative acts on the northern and southern sides of Pangong Lake in the past three weeks. For the first time in 45 years, bullets have been fired on the Line of Actual Control (LAC).
