The 13th round of Corps Commander-level military talks between India and China took place on Sunday after nearly two months to end tensions along the LAC near eastern Ladakh.

When the Indian side gave constructive suggestions to resolve the issues of the disputed areas, the Chinese side was not agreeable to it nor did it give any solution itself.

Thus, this meeting remained fruitless.

During this conversation, the Indian Army asked China to withdraw from all the places of confrontation near the Ladakh border.

In this meeting, which lasted for about eight and a half hours, India has bluntly asked China to step back from all the remaining places of confrontation and restore the situation before May 2020.

After the talks between India and China, a statement has been issued by the Indian Army in which this information has been given.

The Indian Army said that the Indian side conveyed to China that this situation of tension along the LAC was due to unilateral attempts by China to change the status quo and violate bilateral agreements.

In the 13th round of senior India-China commanders’ meeting yesterday, the Indian Army said that it was, therefore, necessary that the Chinese side take appropriate steps in the remaining areas.

So that peace and tranquility can be restored along the LAC in the western sector.

The Indian Army said that during this meeting, the Indian side made constructive suggestions to find solutions in the remaining areas.

But the Chinese side did not agree to this nor could it make any forward-looking proposal. Thus, this meeting could not lead to a solution regarding all other places of military confrontation.

The Indian Army said in its statement that both sides have also agreed to maintain communication and maintain stability on the ground.

We hope that the Chinese side will take into account the overall perspective of bilateral relations and work towards early resolution of the remaining issues.
