India and US agree to increase cooperation against illegal drugs. India and the US have agreed to cooperate and coordinate against illegal drugs and in compliance with the law.

At the inaugural meeting of the Counter Narcotics Working Group (CNWG) in a virtual manner on 24 November, the two countries also agreed to step up data sharing campaigns in the fight against the production, distribution, and import-export of drugs.

In the meeting, the Indian side was led by Sachin Jain, Deputy Director-General of the Board of Narcotics Control under the Union Home Ministry, while the US side was led by Kemp Chester, Assistant Director of the National Drug Control Policy of the White House Office.

According to a joint statement released on Tuesday, the two sides identified areas for joint action and expressed a resolve to continue close coordination on this important issue.

All the same, US President Donald Trump has filed a case in the Supreme Court of Wisconsin, challenging Joe Biden’s victory in the presidential election.
