India China Stand-Off: India-China agree to withdraw troops from the Pangong area, retreat process begins.

India and China have agreed to completely withdraw their troops from the Pangong Lake area of ​​eastern Ladakh.

On Thursday, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh announced this important consensus in the direction of resolving the serious military confrontation that has been going on for the last nine months on the Line of Actual Control (LAC).

Under the agreement, troops of India and China from the northern and southern areas of Pangong Lake have started retreating with their weapons and weapons.

This agreement, important to avoid military escalation, will allow China to place its troops in the Pangong Lake area eastward near Finger-Eight.

At the same time, India will place its forces at its permanent base Dhan Singh Thapa post near Finger-3.

The Defense Minister said that in the agreed agreement between India and China on the withdrawal of troops in this area, it has been taken clear that we will not allow anyone to take even an inch of our land.

After the announcement of the agreement in Parliament, photos and videos of the withdrawal of the soldiers of both the countries from this area have also been revealed, in which the soldiers on both sides are seen removing their weapons and equipment.

The defense minister first informed the Rajya Sabha about the way out of the deadlock in talks in the Pangong Lake area during a long and serious confrontation with China over LAC in eastern Ladakh.

Rajnath said that under the PM’s guideline of continuous dialogue at the military and diplomatic level and not giving one inch of land to anyone, we stayed.

The House is now pleased to state that an agreement has been reached with China on the withdrawal of troops along the northern and southern sides of Pangong Lake.

It has also been agreed that within 48 hours of the complete withdrawal of troops from the area, senior commander-level talks between the two countries should be held and the remaining issues resolved.

Subsequently, reiterating his statement in the Lok Sabha, Rajnath Singh also said that LAC last year has adversely affected not only peace and stability in the region but also India-China relations due to Chinese antics.

The Defense Minister said that according to the agreement, the two sides will remove their troops stationed on the advance front in a phased manner and with coordination and will also confirm it at their level.

China will keep its troops on the northern side of the lake in the east direction near Finger-Eight and India will place its army on the permanent base of Dhan Singh Thapa post near Finger-3.

A similar step would be taken by the two countries on the southern side of Pangong Lake. All steps will be extended under mutual agreement.

Any construction that has been done by both sides in the northern and southern areas of Pangong Lake since April 2020 will be removed and re-conditioned.

India China Stand-Off: The patrol will start after talks.

The Defense Minister said that it has also been decided that the forces of the two countries will temporarily suspend their military activities, including the patrolling of traditional places north of the lake.

The patrol will be started only when negotiations are reached at the military and diplomatic level.

The Defense Minister said that the agreement has been operationalized from Wednesday and it is expected that the situation will be restored on the northern and southern sides of the lake soon before the deadlock created last year.

The Defense Minister assured the House that we have not lost anything. Some issues regarding deployment and patrolling of LAC are yet to be resolved and will be discussed.

The two countries agreed that the troops should be withdrawn as soon as possible under the bilateral agreement and protocol.

After the talks so far, China is also aware of our resolve to protect the sovereignty and it is our expectation that China will try seriously to resolve the remaining issues together.

The Defense Minister also praised the soldiers who stood by the gallantry in the fierce snowfall in the House and said that the country will always remember the martyrs who have got this agreement to return the soldiers on the foundation of valor and valor.
