India expressed deep concern over the resolution adopted in the UN. Only Islamophobia is not right, the threat of partition on the basis of religion will increase: India.

India has expressed deep concern over the resolution adopted in the United Nations, which states that every year the date of 15 March will be celebrated internationally as the day to fight Islamophobia (fear of Islam).

According to India, it is incomprehensible to take any kind of alleged phobia against a religion internationally, while many such fears are prevalent, such as anti-Hindu, anti-Buddhist and anti-Sikh fears.

Proposal to celebrate March 15 as International Anti-Islamophobia Day.

The resolution moved by Pakistan’s representative Munir Akram was accepted by the 193-member UN General Assembly, which calls for the International Day of Anti-Islamophobia to be observed on March 15 every year.

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) played a major role behind this proposal, which was called Afghanistan, Bangladesh, China, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran.

Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Lebanon, Libya, Malaysia, Maldives, Mali, Qatar, Countries like Saudi Arabia, Turkey, United Arab Emirates also gave support.

India said – the danger of being divided on the basis of religions.

Responding to this, India’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations TS Tirumurti said that we hope that this resolution will not start any tradition.

As many other such resolutions can also come and this will lead to the change of religions of the United Nations.

There is a danger of splitting at the base. People of religions like Hindus, Buddhists, and Sikhs are spread all over the world.

We have to accept the presence of fear on the basis of religion, and not just indicate fear against any one religion.

It was already decided in 2019 that the date of 22 August would be observed as the Day of Sympathy for Victims of Religious Violence. In this, the question of all religions automatically comes.
