India Accuses Pakistan of Using Nuclear Power to Shield Terrorism at Algeria Forum
During a diplomatic visit to Algeria, an Indian parliamentary delegation led by BJP MP Baijayant Panda took a firm stand against Pakistan, accusing it of exploiting its nuclear status to mask terrorist activities.
Baijayant Panda Criticises Pakistan’s Nuclear Strategy
Addressing Algerian media, think tanks, and members of the Indian diaspora, Baijayant Panda alleged that Pakistan is misusing its nuclear capabilities to conceal its involvement in terrorist financing, training camps, and weapons proliferation. He emphasized that despite sanctions from the United Nations Security Council, of which Algeria is currently a member, at least 52 banned terror groups and individuals continue to operate freely within Pakistan.

Echoing Panda’s remarks, BJP MP Nishikant Dubey highlighted Pakistan’s deteriorating economic conditions. He pointed out that since the 1980s, Pakistan has consistently allocated 20–25% of its national budget to defense. “Their economy relies heavily on foreign loans from the IMF, Saudi Arabia, and the United States, with over 80% driven by debt,” Dubey said. “Pakistan is teetering on the brink of becoming another Somalia or Sudan, and any country investing in them risks losing its money.”
He also reminded the audience that while India returned 93,000 Pakistani soldiers after the 1971 war, 54 Indian soldiers remain in Pakistani custody even today.
Rajya Sabha MP Rekha Sharma’s Remarks
Rajya Sabha MP Rekha Sharma also condemned Pakistan’s ongoing attempts to destabilize India through terrorism. She remarked that such threats are not new and that Pakistan has consistently initiated hostilities, only for India to respond decisively. “Our Prime Minister has made it clear that this time, we will not tolerate further provocation,” she said.
