India Will Create 47 Additional Border Posts On LAC

India will create 47 additional border posts on LAC amid tension in Ladakh: India-China Border Update.

Amidst the escalation of the Indo-China border in Ladakh, India will create 47 additional border posts in the area.

It has been approved by the Central Government. Union Minister of State for Home Affairs G Kishan Reddy has said that the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) over the last few months has broken the illusion of some countries that have a powerful army.

He informed that the government has approved the ITBP to set up 47 additional border outposts for surveillance along the India-China border.

The government has approved setting up of 47 border outposts (BoPs) to increase the vigilance of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) in the wake of a tussle between India and Chinese troops amid tension over the Line of Actual Control (LAC).

What is the role of ITBP.

ITBP- is one of the seven Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) under the Ministry of Home Affairs and is responsible for the security of 3,488 km along the India-China border.

Raised on 24 October 1962 during the Indo-China War, the ITBP primarily guards the borders in the Himalayas at BOPs at altitudes of 3,000 to 18,800 feet.

It was also deployed for anti-Maoist operations and other internal security duties

Significantly, there was a deadlock between India and China in early May over a border dispute in East Ladakh, which has made relations between the two countries quite tense.

The two countries have held several diplomatic and military talks to end the dispute. However, there has been no breakthrough in ending the deadlock.

In the last week of August, China unsuccessfully attempted to capture Indian territory on the southern bank of Pangong Lake. These plans of China were thwarted by the Indian Army.

Rajnath Singh and Army Chief General Manoj Mukund Narvane arrived in Darjeeling on a two-day tour of the Northeast.

It is believed that his visit will boost the morale of the soldiers. Singh and General Narvane reached Sukna military camp late Saturday evening. Both are on a two-day visit to Da Jaling and Sikkim.

On Sunday morning, the Defense Minister and the Chief of Army Staff will leave for Sikkim in a special aircraft and will visit the forward areas (forward areas) attached to the LAC. During this, we will talk to the soldiers.

On Sunday, on the occasion of Defense Minister Singh Dussehra, he will also perform arms worship along with soldiers at Nathula Pass near LAC. The Defense Minister will also meet the soldiers here and address them.
