Bridge capable of lifting 70 tons in Eastern Ladakh:

Before the inauguration of 14 bridges in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday, 18 bridges have been dedicated to the country in October 2020 and 15 in June this year.

These are all Class-70 category bridges, which have been built by the Border Roads Organization keeping in mind the future requirements.

From there it is possible to carry army guns by large vehicles. The old bridges in eastern Ladakh were capable of carrying only 24 tonnes.

The bridges now built can lift 70 tonnes. Many of these bridges are more than 80 meters long.
