Indian Navy Chief Arrives In Oman On A Three-Day Visit

Indian Navy Chief arrives in Oman on a three-day visit, will expand military ties with the Gulf country.

Navy Chief Karambir Singh arrived in Oman on Sunday on a three-day visit. It aims to further expand bilateral military ties with the influential Gulf nation.

Officials said that in this visit from September 27-29, Singh will hold talks with top military officials of the Gulf country.

Indian Navy Chief will also meet his Omani counterpart Rear Admiral Saif bin Nasser bin Mohsin Al Rabbi.

Navy spokesman Commander Vivek Madhwal said, “The visit is aimed at strengthening bilateral defense ties with Oman and exploring new areas for cooperation.”

He said that apart from talks with Al Rabbi.

Singh’s program was to meet Vice Admiral Abdullah Khamis Abdullah Al Raisi, Chief of Staff of the Omani Armed Forces, Major General Matar bin Salim bin Rashid Al Balusi.

Commander of the Royal Army and Air Vice Marshal Khamis, Commander of the Royal Air Force, and also Bin Hammad bin Sultan Al Ghafri.

It is worth mentioning that the Indian Navy cooperates with the Royal Navy of Oman on many fronts. Both the navies have been participating in bilateral military exercises since 1993.

Indian Navy spokesman Commander Vivek Madhwal said, “The purpose of the visit is to strengthen bilateral defense ties with Oman and explore new areas for cooperation.”

The event was also scheduled to meet Vice Admiral Abdullah Khamis Abdullah Al Raisi, Chief of Staff of the Omani Armed Forces, Major General Matar bin Salim bin Rashid Al Balusi.

Commander of the Royal Army of Oman, and Air Vice-Marshal Khamis bin Hammad bin Sultan Al Ghafri, Commander of the Royal Air Force.

During this time he will also visit important defense installations such as Muaskar Al Mustafa Camp, Maritime Security Centre, Saad bin Sultan Naval Base, Al Musanna Air Force Base, and Oman’s National Defense College, he said.

The Indian Navy cooperates with the Royal Navy of Oman on a number of fronts, including operational interactions and training. Both navies have been participating in bilateral naval exercises since 1993.

The last time this exercise took place off the coasts of Goa was in 2020 and the next exercise will be held in 2022.
