Indian Students Stranded In Ukraine Brought Home

Indian students stranded in Ukraine were brought home,  two planes reached IGI Airport from Romania and Hungary.

The government has given full force to bring home the students trapped in Ukraine. On Monday, 489 students were brought by two Air India planes.

The first plane landed from Bucharest, the capital of Romania, and the second from Budapest, the capital of Hungary, at IGI Airport here. The first Air India flight landed at IGI Airport around 8.30 am.

There were 249 students on this plane that arrived from Bucharest. About eight and a half hours later, another Air India flight arrived from Budapest at 5 pm, carrying 240 students.

Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, who arrived in the evening to receive the students, reiterated that every Indian student trapped in Ukraine would be brought home.

1396 students have come so far.

So far 1,396 Indian students have been brought to India by Air India planes under Operation Ganga. Of these, five flights have landed at Delhi’s IGI Airport, from which 1177 students have returned safely.

The first plane carrying Indians had landed in Mumbai. SpiceJet and Indigo have also joined in this work.

SpiceJet said that it will use its Boeing 737 MAX aircraft which will depart from Delhi on Monday evening.

IndiGo said it will operate two evacuation flights using A321 aircraft. Both the flights will land in Delhi on Tuesday.

Let us inform you that the Government of India has started Operation Ganga to rescue its citizens trapped in Ukraine.

After returning home, the passengers are very happy and are repeatedly thanking them for this step of the government.

Sonam, a student, said, I want to thank you that we were rescued from such a situation and I request the Government of India to bring back the children who are in critical condition in Kyiv and other areas.
