Indonesia banned radical Islamic group. The government of Indonesia on Wednesday banned all activities of a radical Islamic group on charges of violence as illegal.

This action has been taken within two months of the announcement of a firebrand leader, Rizik Shihab, returning from self-preservation to lead the ‘moral revolution’.

Members of the group have been involved in terrorist and criminal activities and its activities deteriorate public order. The 55-year-old Rizik is a cleric and claims to be a descendant of Prophet Muhammad.

He is accused of organizing the program by mobilizing thousands of people in violation of the Corona Protocol. He surrendered to the police this month and could be imprisoned for up to six years.

Just six days before his arrest, six of his bodyguards were killed by the police. Officials say the action was taken in self-defense, Rizik is still in jail.
